Individual Tuition Designed to Meet your Child’s Needs
Tutoring involves a sizeable investment of both time and money and to be successful must focus on a young person’s strengths and weaknesses. Wakefield Tutoring will always carry out a free initial consultation which provides the student and his/her parents with an opportunity to meet the tutor and for the tutor to start to understand the areas which need to be addressed to help the student improve his/her attainment. An “assessment report” is provided and a proposal for the first four weeks of tutoring is written. Once tutoring has started the programme is constantly adjusted to reflect progress made and to address further problems encountered.

About Us
Wakefield Tutoring and Educational Consultancy is owned and run by Simon Horsley BA (Hons) PGCE. He has worked in education for 29 years. He has spent 19 years specialising in literacy, numeracy and study skills. His career so far has included six years as Headteacher of Frewen College (Specialist School for Dyslexics), five years as Director of Studies/Deputy Head of Sibford School (one of England's Quaker Schools). He currently works part-time as a tutor to dyslexic undergraduates at Leeds Trinity.
